A set of four 18th-century hand-colored engravings from the renowned naturalist Niccolo Gualtieri (1688-1744), depicting a variety of intricate seashells with scientific precision. These works were originally illustrated by Giuseppe Menabuoni and engraved by Antonio Pazzi, capturing the era’s fascination with the natural world and the curiosity of the "cabinet of wonders."

Circa 1742, these original period engravings were produced during the height of the Enlightenment, a time when the study of conchology was both a rigorous science and a refined art.

Hand-colored copperplate engravings on aged paper, each presented in a clean white mat and housed in a simple dark frame. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition, these prints reflect the 18th century’s deep appreciation for symmetry and the elegant documentation of the natural world.
