Large Paris Porcelain Antique Platter, 19th century
2.75" h x 21.75" w x 15.25" d
A large Paris Porcelain antique platter from the 19th century, featuring a deep oval form and elegant handles. The brilliant white porcelain is accented by a vibrant apricot or orange sherbet glaze at the rim, further enriched by fine hand-painted gilt details that reflect the sophisticated dining culture of 19th century France.
Circa 1850, this original period piece was crafted during a time when Parisian workshops were the height of European ceramic decoration.
Made of fine porcelain with hand-applied gilt and a colored glaze, showing a warm, naturally aged patina with expected wear to the gold trim. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition with later influences of the Empire style, this platter embodies the graceful restraint and functional beauty that defined French table service during the mid-19th century.
