An elegant Italian walnut commode of three drawers, featuring parquetry inlaid banding and meticulously hand-carved motifs of wheat and ribbons. The case is raised on turned and tapered legs, showcasing the refined architectural balance and verticality that defined the Italian interpretation of neoclassical furniture.

Circa 1760, this original period piece was crafted during a time when the discovery of Pompeii was inspiring a fresh, sober classicism throughout Italy.

Constructed from walnut with fruitwood and ebonized wood marquetry, topped with a veined marble slab. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition, this piece reflects the era's transition from flowing Rococo lines to the more disciplined, antiquity-inspired designs favored by the Italian elite in the late 18th century.
