36.75" h x 24" w x 21.75" d
A pair of French armchairs crafted in the Régence style, featuring the graceful symmetrical curves and low-relief carvings that defined this elegant transitional era. The frames showcase the characteristic fluidity of the early 18th century, with armrests set back to accommodate the fashion of the day and legs ending in delicate hoof feet.
Circa 1850, these 19th-century pieces are beautiful Napoleon III period revivals of the refined designs first popularized during the French Regency.
The frames are carved from solid walnut and finished in a warm patina, with seats and backs currently featuring traditional caning. Rooted in the Régence tradition, these chairs represent the historical shift toward intimacy and comfort, blending the grandeur of the Baroque with the emerging lightness of the Rococo.
