A striking Delftware charger depicting Elizabeth I of England, crafted with the charmingly naive hand characteristic of 17th century tin-glazed earthenware. The queen is presented in regal attire surrounded by vibrant floral motifs, showcasing the early European attempt to capture the white-ground elegance of imported Chinese porcelain.

Circa 1650, this original period piece was created during the golden age of Dutch pottery when the city of Delft became the premier center for fine earthenware.

Tin-glazed earthenware with a characteristically warm, yellow-toned clay body visible beneath chips at the rim and a polychrome palette of blues, yellows, and greens. Rooted in the Baroque tradition, this charger reflects the 17th century's formal grandeur and the era's fascination with royal portraiture and exotic materials.
