"Animal Locomotion", Eadweard Muybridge, 1887, plate 88. This plate shows a man walking up a set of steps. Muybridge used collotype (a form of gelatin based printing process) to create his plates, which were published in Animal Locomotion, in 11 volumes consisting of 781 plates.
