This tall case clock by Richard Marshall of Wolsingham features a handsome mahogany body with a square hood topped by a decorative cornice and a long trunk door below. The brass dial displays Roman numerals and a moonphase complication in the arch, presenting both functional timekeeping and artistic detail in a single elegant package.

Circa 1734, this piece reflects the Early Georgian period's refined craftsmanship and regional clockmaking tradition of northern England. The restrained architectural lines and quality construction are characteristic of provincial English horology from the early 18th century.
