A very nice fruitwood Venetian settee made in Italy during the third quarter of the 18th century. As a world power, Venice was in decline at this time but it’s art and style were only rivaled by Paris. The flowing lines and winged arms accentuate the general over the top design of this sofa that offers a great example of the decadent opulence of Rococo Venice. Recently tightened and reupholstered and in great restored condition. Frame tightened and polished. Shrinkage and wear as expected.
