Chinese Archaic Style Bronze Jar, 18th Century
An Archaic Shang dynasty style bronze wine jar (zun) in the form of an owl or a bird. This one was made in the 14th century, the original would have been made 4500 years ago, China. These pieces are extraordinarily rare we have handled and seen two in about 30 years outside of museums. Bronzes where always considered to be status symbols. Particularly rare pieces have been treasured for a very long time.
